Senior Software Engineer, Planning - AV Software

We are looking for a highly experienced senior engineering or an engineering lead to join our Planning team and redefine the way we drive. Our planning team has a number of subareas, including behavior planning, motion planning, active safety, and we are hiring for all of these. In this role, you will get to design, develop and productize key features for our integrated end-to-end autonomous driving platform. You will work collaboratively with other teams including perception, maps and user experience, to help design, mature, and validate new products and features. What you will be doing: Maturing and productizing autonomous vehicle features entails a diversity of activities. These will include: Defining and developing of planning algorithms, integrate them into our software stack and mature them to production quality Designing the overall software architecture for a particular feature or component Defining and verifying product requirements through detailed analysis, testing in simulation and on the road, define and measure key performance indicators Solve problems of how to combine data driven and classical solutions to create a robust pipeline that covers as many of the real world situations as possible Design a system that works in multiple different settings (perception sensor modalities, map availability, environmental conditions) Collaborate with a diverse group of engineers of other domains including perception, mapping and vehicle control, as well as our internal safety teams to perform safety analysis Mentor and guide members of the team in their work on different planning solutions
